⭐ **Tip**

Since Shopify **does not allow modifying a product’s SKU or weight during checkout,** a **virtual free product** is used to carry the additional SKU and weight information. As a result, the checkout page will appear as shown in the image below.

**💡 SKU Advanced Settings**

1

➖ **SKU Separator**

Define the character used to **join multiple SKUs**. The default separator is "-" (e.g., sku1-sku2)..

2

📤 **Sku Output Method**

* **Use virtual product to carry SKU** — Default method. A free virtual product is added at checkout to carry the SKU. This may confuse customers but works well for ERP systems.
* **Include SKU inside option values** — Stores SKU information inside the option value instead of creating a virtual product. This is more customer-friendly but less compatible with ERP systems.

* **SKU field label** — If you choose **Include SKU inside option values**, you also need to set the option name used to store the SKU. The default name is **“_SKU”**.

3

📦 **Use product SKU as prefix**

Enable this setting if you want the final combined option SKU to include the product’s SKU as a prefix.
